Youth, Tourism Ministers Discuss Implementing Programs to Empower Youth in Tourism Sector

Amman, Jan 7 (Petra) - Minister of Youth Raed Adwan and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin met Wednesday to discuss joint initiatives aimed at equipping young Jordanians with skills to enter the tourism sector.
Adwan emphasized the ministry’s commitment to developing specialized training programs within the youth centers’ development plan. These programs will cover technical skills, life skills, arts, and sports, aiming to expand training and employment opportunities for youth in tourism.
Hijazin highlighted the tourism sector’s capacity to absorb young workers, pointing to job opportunities in guiding, hospitality, and entrepreneurial tourism activities. He expressed the ministry’s readiness to implement joint programs, with youth centers serving as key hubs for training.
The ministers also discussed developing tourist facilities and routes, improving youth hostels, enhancing staff skills, and raising service quality.
Both sides agreed to prepare a joint action plan that includes training programs, capacity-building initiatives, and expanding partnerships with the private sector to promote sustainable employment opportunities for youth.
